What did 2010s jerseys look like?
Performance fabric and tailored cuts throughout, with jerseys built lighter every few seasons and increasingly cut to be worn tight. The alternate uniform stopped being an occasional thing and became a program, with teams running four or more looks a year.
Nike took the NFL in 2012 and the NBA for 2017-18, and the NHL switched to Adidas the same season, so a 2017 jersey and a 2018 jersey of the same team can carry different maker marks. The NBA also dropped the old home-white and road-color convention in 2017-18 for Association, Icon, Statement and City, and put the first advertising patches on jerseys that season. That clustering is useful. Because so many changes landed in the same 2017-18 window, a single season is often enough to date a 2010s jersey precisely, which is rarely true of earlier decades.
